Charlie Walk’s Early & Personal Life
Charlie Walk said he started taking interest in music when he was just 8 years old. It was WRKO, a Boston pop music station that inspired him to enter into music industry. He started his career as a college marketing representative for a private company called Sony Music Distributions while he was taking his classes in Boston University’s Questrom School Of Business. In 1990, he graduated with a bachelor degree in Business Administration. He got married Lauran Miller in 1997. They have four children; Jesse (2000), Jagger (2001), Jade (2005), and Jewel Summer (2007).
Charlie Walk’s Career
Walked kicked off his music career as a marketing and promotion manager at Columbia Records in 1990. He was appointed to Northeast Region, and his first task was to work with a boy band ‘’New Kids on the Block,’’ trying to bring them to the mainstream. While working at Columbia, he became the vice president for marketing/promotion at the label, and was featured by ‘’The New York Times’’ as one of the industry’s ‘’Young Guns’’ in 1998. During the course of working at Columbia, he worked with the likes of Destiny’s Child, Will Smith, Beyoncé Knowles, John Legend, Maxwell, The Fugees, Mariah Carey, Lauryn Hill, Wyclef Jean, John Mayer, Aerosmith, and Bruce Springsteen.
